Jason W. Johnson

Senior Vice President, Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Jason Johnson has been a Senior Vice President of IDEXX and Chief Medical Officer since January 2026 and previously served as a Vice President and Chief Medical Officer from 2020 to 2025. Dr. Johnson is a globally recognized veterinary leader with more than 22 years of experience advancing animal health through clinical practice, education, research, and organizational leadership. Prior to joining IDEXX, he served as Vice President and Dean of the Lincoln Memorial University College of Veterinary Medicine from 2016 to 2020, which he helped establish as the 30th college of veterinary medicine in the United States. He also founded the Center for Animal and Human Health in Appalachia in 2015 and served as its Executive Director from 2015 to 2020. Throughout his career, Dr. Johnson has held various roles in the veterinary industry, including boarded veterinarian, private practitioner and practice owner, professor, consultant, and researcher. Dr. Johnson holds a bachelor’s of science degree from Troy University, a master’s degree in biomedical science from Auburn University, and a doctor of veterinary medicine degree from the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine, and he is a boarded diplomate in the American College of Theriogenologists.
